Pitzer offers a few options over the summer for students to take classes or go abroad. 援助 is available to Pitzer students who receive need-based Pitzer scholarship and were enrolled for at least one semester in the academic year prior to the summer term. 夏天 aid is not available for coursework completed at other institutions, including 克莱蒙特学院. 夏天 aid is not available to non-Pitzer students participating in Pitzer summer 项目.

    Financial aid is available to assist Pitzer need-based aid recipients with the cost of summer session. All Pitzer financial aid recipients registered for summer session by the priority deadline (April 24) will automatically be considered for summer session aid; no application is required. The 财政援助办公室 will process summer session aid packages AFTER the close of priority registration (April 24) and will release aid notifications by Friday, 5月3日.

    • Pitzer Grant 援助: Available to Pitzer need-based aid recipients who register in 1 or 2 courses – Pitzer Grant eligibility is based on available funding and a student’s financial need
    • Pell Grant: Available to Pitzer Pell Grant recipients who are registered in 2 courses
    • Federal 贷款: Available to loan borrowers who are registered in 2 courses

    Satisfactory Academic Progress
    夏天 session courses count toward the student’s Satisfactory Academic Progress evaluations and total course count.

  • 暑期出国留学

    Students who wish to participate in Pitzer’s summer study abroad 项目 are able to go abroad over the summer and earn credits for transfer.

    The comprehensive cost for study abroad for summer 2023 is $11,500.

    Students who study abroad over the summer receive aid equivalent to 2 courses (half-time) of enrollment. As a result, participants are expected to take one half-time semester (2 courses) 在某一时刻 up在ir return (usually the last semester of their senior year).

    传统的学生 at Pitzer are eligible for 8 semesters of financial aid. By enrolling in summer study abroad, you use half a semester of financial aid eligibility.

    转学 at Pitzer are eligible for pro-rated semesters of financial aid based 在ir courses transferred at the time of admission. By enrolling in summer study abroad, you use half a semester of your pro-rated aid eligibility.

    新资源学生 are eligible for 32 courses of financial aid. If you are a New Resource student, you use the equivalent of 2 courses of financial aid eligibility. These 2 courses count toward your maximum aid eligibility.

    Students who choose to enroll full-time during their half-time semester are financially responsible for the additional costs. If you are concerned about this policy or have questions, please reach out to our office.
